Data capture can also be achieved through QR codes and ‘keyword’ short code texting. If you have an existing data base, that can be uploaded directly on to our platform.

SMS Text Marketing FAQ’s

GDPR rules stipulate that:

  • You must always let your customers know they can opt out of messages and provide an easy way to do so, e.g. ‘Text STOP to unsubscribe.’
  • Customers must ‘opt in’ to become part of your data base, and they must do this in the full knowledge of what to expect by way of messages from you.
  • Data must never be shared with any other third party. If you sign up with a restaurant, you do not want to get messages from the local mini cab company.
  • Text My Deal does not store any personal information, simply mobile phone numbers.

Frequency of messages is especially important. No matter how much your customers love you, they do not want to be bombarded with text messages. The Text My Deal platform is capped at four messages to each number in a rolling thirty-day period. If there is a genuine reason for wanting to send more than this, the amount can be raised on an account by account basis.

Depending on what your business is, this is a time critical issue. For example, the best time of day for the hospitality industry to send out a text campaign is middle to late afternoon. However, health & beauty clinics benefit from a greater response when messages are sent first thing in the morning. Campaign and Broadcast messages can be forward programmed to be sent at the most desirable time. The Text My Deal platform will not allow messages to be sent after 9.00pm or before 8.00am.

The best topics to promote with your SMS messages include:

No. Text My Deal charge for text messages one month in arrears. Needless to say, the more you send, the cheaper they get, however Text My Deal only charge for messages that are delivered.

SMS does not include the ability to send pictures (that’s MMS and is more expensive). However, text messages can include URL’s or web site links to take your customer directly to the web site page you want them to see.

The whole point about SMS Marketing is that you are sending brief messages. SMS stands for Short Message Service. Using ‘text speak’ and appropriate abbreviations you can get a significant amount of information into the number of permitted characters. Should it be necessary to send something slightly longer, the Text My Deal platform will link two messages together.
